Amo le canzoni natalizie. Soprattutto se un po’ datate. Mi ricordano quand’ero bambina e Natale era quel periodo in cui tutto era possibile. Il rito dell’albero di Natale, poi, era quel momento in cui si ascoltavano, e si canticchiavano, i motivetti natalizi.

Up on the Housetop era, ed è, da sempre tra i miei preferiti. Un motivetto datato quanto basta (siamo nel 1865), che parla dell’arrivo di Babbo Natale nella casa di due fratellini: Nell e Will.

Ho trovato questo video, datato anche lui, come piace a me, e mi è parso così incantato e poetico che non potevo davvero non condividerlo con voi.
