Buon Natale a tutti!

Nella fretta dell’allegra mattina,

Quando il rosso brucia nel grigio

E il mondo invernale sta aspettando

Per la gloria del giorno,

Ad un certo punto sentiamo un fruscio irregolare

Appena fuori, sulle scale,

Vediamo due fantasmi bianchi arrivare

Catturati dal bagliore dei raggi  solari.

Piedi rosei sulla soglia,

Facce ansiose che fanno capolino

Con il primo raggio di sole rosso

Si vedono cherubini cantilenanti;

Vischio e agrifoglio splendenti,

Simboli di un giorno benedetto,

Nelle loro mani paffute portano,

Urlando fino in fondo.

Ebbene li conosciamo, mai stanchi

Della loro innocente sorpresa;

Aspettare, guardare, ascoltare sempre

Con cuori pieni e occhi teneri,

Mentre i nostri piccoli angeli domestici,

Bianchi e dorati al sole,
